Car park La Villette
For the Olympic and Paralympic Games, La Villette is hosting the Parc des Nations.
Fifteen or so international cultural and sporting organisations are setting up home for the duration of the competition, giving the public a chance to discover their culture, arts, gastronomy, history and much more!
The Paris edition of the Olympic Games is no exception to the rule: the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) are taking advantage of the Games to showcase their athletes, their culture and their traditions in ‘national houses’ dotted around the capital.
It's only natural that many of them should be in the Parc de la Villette, a vast green space where sport and the arts come together.
All the houses are open from 27 July to 11 August 2024.
Access arrangements vary: all have areas open to the general public, some free, others with ticket sales.
National Houses :
Team NL Huis (NOC Holland)
The famous Zenith in Paris is decked out in orange during the Olympic fortnight. On the menu: coverage of the competitions, celebrations of all kinds, a fanzone entirely dedicated to catering and, of course, evening shows by Dutch artists in a venue that expected nothing less.
Slovenia House 2024 (NOC Slovenia)
The spirit of Slovenian hospitality and dynamism can be found at 211, where concerts, DJ sets and tastings of typical dishes will punctuate the sporting days.
All public events will be held outside the building, with indoor events by invitation only.
Czech House (Czech NOC)
Located in the famous Cabaret Sauvage, the Czech House will be showcasing its athletes, distinguished sports guests, a ‘Sport Art’ exhibition with sports quizzes, dance and music shows.... and also its famous national beers, with no fewer than thirty-two craft beers to taste and the presence on site of sixteen Czech microbreweries.
India House (CNO India)
Docked on the north bank of the Ourcq canal, the impressive temporary structure of India House will enhance the meadow in the north circle of the Parc des Nations. As well as retracing India's Olympic journey since 1920, this first-ever House of India in the history of the Olympic Games will captivate you with the diversity of its programme and the resolutely immersive experience it offers, from yoga sessions to handicrafts and Indian music and dance performances.
The Slovak House (NOC Slovakia)
Around the little cocoon of Ventrus, the Slovak House will be distilling the taste and aromas of national gastronomy, with documentary screenings, art workshops and virtual reality cycling simulators. All the architectural elements of the house have been created especially for the occasion in shades of wood and blue, symbols of tradition and Slovak national representation.
Mongolia House (CNO Mongolia)
At the confluence of the Saint-Denis and Ourcq canals, on the Prairie De La Folie Kiosque, the Mongolian House invites visitors on a journey through traditional art shows six times a day and exceptional performances. The cultural exploration continues with rich tapestries, culinary delights straight from the steppes and an insight into nomadic Mongolian life: try your hand at archery or take part in a traditional wrestling match.
Casa Brazil (NOC Brazil)
In the Marquee Area of the Parc des Nations, you'll find the full force of Brazilian culture and music, with capoeira and axé (traditional music from the north-east of the country) competitions. You can also follow in the footsteps of the delegation's top athletes by taking part in the sporting activities at the skate park and beach volleyball court set up for the occasion.
Casa Colombia (CNO Colombia)
In the colourful den of A la folie, who better to celebrate inclusion, diversity, passion and unity than the Colombian house? This space is intended to be a veritable social, cultural, sporting and entrepreneurial embassy, where exhibitions and sporting events will be one and the same.
Casa México (NOC Mexico)
For the duration of the Games, the Pavillon Villette will be adorned with architectural elements that evoke the magnificence of ancient pre-Columbian civilisations and the bright colours that distinguish Mexico in the eyes of the world. In this way, Mexico House will be paying vibrant tribute to the country's rich cultural and sporting history, with a host of concerts, workshops and competitions in typical disciplines (balero, trompo, pinata...).
Canada Olympic House (CNO Canada)
Located in the heart of the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie, Canada House will undoubtedly be one of the must-see venues of the Games, bringing together Canadian supporters and the French-speaking public to witness the exploits of their delegation, punctuated by a host of conferences, events and concerts.
Ekhaya - Team South Africa House (NOC South Africa)
The South Africa House is next door to Club France, in the Little Villette.
Serbian House
The House of Serbia (run by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) is also close to Club France, taking up residence in the Théâtre Paris-Villette, and offering an interactive experience through its ‘Roots’ exhibition, based on the history of the success of Serbian athletes at the Olympic Games. Gastronomy, artistic performances and cinema will also be showcased in a venue that is ideally suited to them, laying the foundations for the country's bid to host the 2027 International Exposition in Belgrade.
